Presented by Frost Bank, join Spurs Give and Youth Code Jam for Spring Break Coding Camp. This is a self-paced coding camp, but we have a suggested pace for beginner/intermediate coders. You can code any way that you choose - we have a pre-recorded video, step-by-step PDF instructions, and live zoom sessions with programmers.

We have two fun activities and three live sessions with our programmers. You’ll be using Scratch, a visual programming language, to celebrate Women’s History Month! For the two-part Scratch project you will create a dodge-and-collect game with some “floaty” physics by paying tribute to Ellen Ochoa who was the first Latina woman in space! On Monday, March 8th all of the materials will be posted on http://spursgive.org/coding/ and we will host a live zoom session where we will walk through part 1 of the Scratch project. On Wednesday join us for another live zoom session where we will walk through part 2 of the Scratch activity. We will host another live zoom session on Friday for help with any bugs and to share projects and ideas with each other. You can use Tuesday and Thursday to finish any coding steps, try out the Spurs Stats activity, or work on the Adventure Mode to improve your Scratch project and give it your own flare.

Since all of the materials will be posted on Monday, feel free to go through the activities at whatever pace suits you best.

Supplies needed for the Scratch activity
