Texas PTA and Youth Code Jam partner to empower parents

Youth Code Jam is proud to partner with the Texas PTA to expand the reach of Community Code Jams by harnessing the power of the parent. Through a new collaboration, members of Texas PTA are invited to apply for a grant that includes hands-on training with Youth Code Jam, a box of all the materials needed and a $500 stipend to hold a Community Code Jam on the school's campus during this school year.

Through this program, parents can support their schools in bringing coding to the classroom and helping to build future ready kids. Over 2/3rds of Youth Code Jam parents say that coding isn't offered at their school. "Working with the Texas PTA is a way to help democratize learning to code - a critical literacy - for all children," said Debi Pfitzenmaier, executive director for Youth Code Jam. "We are very excited about this new partnership and what it means for so many students."
