It's hard to be stuck at home, especially for kids. In addition to our online lessons, we're compiling a list of fun STEM-related activities you can do at home with your child(ren).
If you do any of the activities, share them with us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Tag us with @YouthCodeJam and use the hashtag #wecanjam.

- Algorithms aren't just for math: Did you know a recipe is just like an algorithm? Watch this video, and see if can you create an algorithm for your family. Maybe how to brush their teeth or make cookies or wash their hands? Write up your instructions, or build an app with AppLab or make a game with your algorithm.
- Make more hand sanitizer — with code! Hand sanitizer is hard to find in real life. But I bet you can make a virtual one multiply on Scratch with a sprite and a loop. Try it, and tag us with your results!
- Explore and observe in your backyard: Go outside and find some bugs to look at. Do they crawl? Fly? What does their body look like? What do you think their habitat is? How fast can they move? Do they push through leaves or walk around them? Be sure to be gentle with them (you are so much bigger). Can you draw that bug? Now, can you draw them on an Art app like Google drawings?
- Be an inventor: What do the lightbulb, television and bicycle have in common? They all started as ideas, until someone invented them and changed the world! Draw your invention and tell us how it can change our world!
